Swimming powerhouse United States won all the three event on Saturday as Sarah Henry clocked 4 minutes 38.88 seconds for the title of women's 400m individual medley. U.S. men's and women's 4x100m teams also claimed victories at 3:15.85 and 3:38.12 respectively.
Japan was the biggest winner of Saturday's judo competitions with two gold medals, the other two judo events were split by South Korea and France.
South Korea and France again split the two fencing titles with the games' host winning the men's individual sabre through Song Jonghun, and France pocketing the women's individual epee gold thanks to Dimodi Laurence.
Sunday will see the beginning of shooting and gymnastics competitions and a total of 22 gold medals will be up for grab.
